AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 7:9 ¶ After these things I looked, and this is what I saw: a vast multitude which no one could count, [gathered] from every nation and from all the tribes and peoples and languages [of the earth], standing before the throne and before the Lamb (Christ), dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands; |
Bible Question:
In Revelation 7 Ver 3 and 4 - 3 Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God. 4Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. Does this mean that only 144,000 people will asend to heaven no matter how loyal they are to following gods word? |
Bible Answer: Revelation is a hard book to tackle, as it contains very symbolic prophecy. The 144,000 (whether that is a literal number or a figurative one) is talking about the Jewish people (the twelve tribes). For a preview of what is going to happen to all believers in Jesus Christ, I recommend reading 1 Corinthians 15. It is a much more concrete depiction of the universal resurrection at the end of the age. I am delighted to hear that you have been attending church! Perhaps you could share a little bit of that with us by making a profile and telling us your background and where you are going now. --Joe! |
