Bible Question: Have you seen His grace in your life ... that is, are you ready for Him to come quickly or do you want Him to wait? Explain. |
Bible Answer: Searcher, I have to admit conflicted in this BECAUSE of experiencing His grace. Paul probably explains it best in how I grapple with this to the Philippians (1:23-26). I was diagnosed terminal (as are we all) in 1995 and told I had a year to live at best. In 2001, I had emergency brain surgery with little hope held out as a result of an infection that left me paralyzed for 3 weeks and affected my motor skills permanently. In 2004, I had another close encounter with death as a result of an esophageal infection that was resistant to the known medicines at that time. Each time, God told me "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10 - this ones interpretation - "shut up and watch") In Jer 29:11 God told the Israelites, "I know the plans I have for you..." I find it is all a matter of God's timing and grace to be here on a daily basis, with a purpose (as all Christians should). In Him, Don |
