AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged according to what they had done as written in the books [that is, everything done while on earth]. Subject: Who does "the dead" include? |
Bible Note: Hello Alison63 and welcome to the forum. Things can really get twisted around when we start to assume as you suggested. You stated with regards to Rev. 20:15, “assumes that there could have been someones whose name WAS written in the book of life, therefore a saved person. Any comments?” Here is one you can think on: It’s always “assumed” that there are no believers at the great white throne judgment because they aren’t actually named but “if there will be”, verse Rev. 20:15 could cover them, if that is the case. Since believers don’t actually face a judgment for “condemnation”, but a judgment for rewards, as it were, where are the believers that come out of the 1000 year reign of Christ to be judged for their rewards? The only judgment mentioned after the millennium is over is the white throne judgment, and the “dead” standing there we know will all be judged out of the books which are the books of works. "Two categories" of books, one set of books contains works of those who are bound for fire the other “book” contains those that will live forever with God. Since we are assuming, then let’s say that there are “living” saints standing there as well to be judged, they are the believers born during the millennium, and they are judged as well for their rewards but the fact is their names are written in the book of life. Case and point; Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. It can sure get sticky and involved when assuming, enjoy the forum, CDBJ |
