AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 2:20 'But I have this [charge] against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess [claiming to be inspired], and she teaches and misleads My bond-servants so that they commit [acts of sexual] immorality and eat food sacrificed to idols. Subject: Is Jezebel part of the church? |
Bible Note: KingdomWalker Not to minimize the work of the adversary and his henchmen what your talking about is unrestrained flesh not a spirit. Romans 1:28-31 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 2 Cor. 12:20 For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults; 1 Tim. 5:13 And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. It is very popular to blame human sin on spirits and I know there is a current teaching circulating about the “spirit of Jezebel that has invaded the church”, but what is called a spirit is nothing more than flesh. All through Proverbs we are cautioned on the danger of an unbridled tongue. That is exactly what your describing as the spirit of Jezebel. You can call it a spirit if you want but realize it is nothing more than flesh that hasn’t been crucified daily. EdB |
