Subject: What consitutes a "righteous act?" |
Bible Note: "We are righteous only in Jesus and only acts done in Him are righteous acts. His obedience was the righteous act that makes us righteous in Him." Emmaus Amen! So, can we conclude that Jesus alone "earned" the fine linen that clothes the Bride by His obedience, by His righteousness? Therefore, when we who are IN Him allow Him to be at work in our lives, (Apart from Me, you can do nothing- John 15:5) what Jesus does, and thus what we do IN Him, becomes our "good deeds." What of those things that we do that are "good" but perhaps are wrought by self-centered motives?(ie. Things that we do that are good or kind to be approved or liked by others) - are these also "fine linen?" Imo, these are the "wood, hay and straw" that will be consummed by the Refiner's fire when we stand before the Bema of Christ. It's all about YOU, Jesus! Blessings, mommapbs |
