Bible Question: HOW WOULD EARLY CHRISTIANS,WHO WERE PRIMARILY JEWISH CONVERTS, HAVE REACTED OR INTERPRETED REVELATIONS 12? BECAUSE OF THEIR IMMEDIATE JEWISH HERITAGE, WOULD THEY HAVE REACTED DIFFERNTLY OR BEEN IMPRESSED DIFFERENTY THAN MODERN CHRISTIANS? |
Bible Answer: We always want to interpret scripture with scripture when we can. In this case we have wonderful referance to Genisis. 37:9 Josephs dream shows us the the fulfillment and analogy for Rev 12. If you are a dispensationalist or of the futurist view of Revelation then everything becomes subjective, which is very Dangerous. Note: How many future theologians have been so wrong in there time lines etc. Then it can become anything, Mary, Church. When in fact it is Israel. Gen 37:9-12 (KJV) 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? 11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying. 12 And his brethren went to feed their father's flock in Shechem.
