AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 11:15 ¶ Then the seventh angel sounded [his trumpet]; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom (dominion, rule) of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." [Ps 22:28; Dan 2:31-45; 7:13, 14, 27; Zech 14:9] |
Bible Question: Do we have two kingdoms of God: the Kingdom of our Lord (God the Father) and the Kingdom of His Christ (God the Son)? In other words, do we have one kingdom first and the other next in time? |
Bible Answer: There are many venues called kingdoms. We have kingdoms of man or of this world and kingdom of God. God is soveriegn and as such all are subject to Him. So in that sense there is one kingdom God's. However we see all authority was given to Jesus so in effect God turned His Kingdom over to the victor Christ Jesus. But we must remember there is one God and Jesus the Son and the God the Father are one, the kingdom is God's. Don't lose sight of what scripture is saying here, before this point God allowed man to set up kingdoms and rule. Man tried to rule other men, animals, and physical earth itself. However all these attempts failed in one way or another. At this point and on God has taken back this control. But since Jesus was victor in the battle of will, this passage was written to give that glory to Jesus. |
