Subject: John 10:10 Who is responsible for death? |
Bible Note: Hi, B... We do not "just say that God is soverign" (sic) These truths are not platitudes. Our God has revealed Himself in Scripture (Hebrews 1:1-2). We do not spin our own interpretation into what He has said about Himself. Now it came about at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle. (Exodus 12:29 NASB) See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand. (Deuteronomy 32:39 NASB) For all the firstborn are Mine; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, from man to beast. They shall be Mine; I am the LORD. (Numbers 3:13 NASB) The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. (1 Samuel 2:6 NASB) He struck down some of the men of Beth-shemesh because they had looked into the ark of the LORD. He struck down of all the people, 50,070 men, and the people mourned because the LORD had struck the people with a great slaughter. (1 Samuel 6:19 NASB) When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, because the oxen nearly upset it. (1 Chronicles 13:9 NASB) On this account the anger of the LORD has burned against His people, And He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them down. And the mountains quaked, and their corpses lay like refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this His anger is not spent, But His hand is still stretched out. (Isaiah 5:25 NASB) This is the plan devised against the whole earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out against all the nations. For the LORD of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back? (Isaiah 14:26-27 NASB) We can go on and on... Acts 5:1-10; 12:23; Revelation 20:8-9. Etc. ...and these are but a few. You wrote, "Instead we credit the works of Satan to God and do nothing." Perhaps you do, but isn't it more frightening to credit to God the works of Satan (Mark 3:29)? Isn't it more frightening to fail to submit to the Word of God? In Him, Doc |
