Bible Question:
Like many through the ages I have considered the question of where evil came from. I have read a bit on it in and out of scriptures but I have found no answer to this question. Why was Satan evil? How did it get in the universe at all? Can anyone help? |
Bible Answer: wordsmith1970, I wanted to add to the excellent answers that you have already recieved. This is a good question that has been delt with many times on this forum. God could have chosen to make angels and man without choice, but then we would not be able to make any decisions. We would be robots that follow strict preprogrammed instructions. Man has made space vehicles with a small amount of decision making capability. The probes sent to Mars are examples of this. Since remote control is too slow (it takes about 10 minutes for the radio signals to reach Mars) NASA has provided them with programming that allows them to roam the surface and navigate around obstacles. I think that we can learn the importance of free will by looking at our own creations in this way. We will always feel an emptiness until we turn and begin to fulfill our purpose for our existance. Please read the book of Ecclesiastes to learn of the vanity of life. Here is how the book ends: Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Pastor Glenn |
