Bible Question: What is permissible for Christians? Some cannot watch TV unless it's totally Christian. Some can't play board games and recently, one said swimming is not permissible? How do we determine what we can or cannot do as Christians,if we want to be in the perfect will of God? |
Bible Answer: Changing even one word in the Bible is prohibited to a true believer. Organized religions often twist the meaning of the Word to help their human desires. While the Word says your body is a temple and you should strive to walk in the path of Jesus, I don't believe the Word says anything about swimming, playing games, or specifying which TV programs to watch. The Bible does say it will speak to each heart and to each is given an interpretation. Let prayer and the Word give you God’s tools to work with and let God lead your heart to give you perfect will. If something makes you feel dirty, don’t do it. If something makes you feel peace then do it! “But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.” 1 John 2:20 |
