NASB | 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. |
Bible Question: Is thinking of someone in a sexual way other than your husband, a sin? I know that the bible says that if you think it, then you might as well have done it. If this a sin is it still possible to get God's forgivness? Because one of the 10 Commandments is thou shall not commit adultery. I am really confused about this. Could you please help? |
Bible Answer: It is a lifetime challenge to keep our mind continually focused on what is good. Especially during idle times, the temptation to sin comes in all forms: anger, greed, malice, lust, etc, you name it. All are unhealthy desires. The whole point of salvation is that we allow God to work in us to purify us and make us wholesome. (Jeremiah 4:14) But it takes two to tangle, so keep your eyes focused on Jesus and think of your friends, family, love ones, and bring a friend to go watch the Two Towers. (Phillipian 4:8) .smile. |
