Bible Note: Greetings JMScott! I think you are missing applying Paul's point in 2 Cor. 3:3. The letter "written not in ink" was the people won to Christ through Paul's ministry. These people are Paul's letter of recommendation, in contrast to the real letter's of recommendation mentioned in verse 1. Paul then goes on in the rest of the chapter to contrast and compare the New Covenant with the Old Covenant. The Old (Law) brought only death and condemnation. The New (Grace) brought life and spirit. However, nothing in this passage says that the Bible is not God's Word, nor that it cannot be! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
