Bible Question:
Dear Love Fountain, Forgive me for changing the topic a bit, I guess this question is somewhat related, I'm familiar with 1 Cor 13, where Paul very eloquently tells what we do if we have the love of God in us, but exactly what does the bible say love IS? I'm not trying to split hairs here, just want to get yours and others biblical perspective of love. Arnie |
Bible Answer: Love has many phases. Such as our love for our parents, siblings, friends, and even our enemies. Then the love of nature, and all things related to it, such as flowers, foods, ect. Then comes the love that we feel for our mates to be, so we can carry on Gods purpose of a union to build a christian family. At the beginning when one man had many mates to bear his progeny, was because God was using good man to fill the world with good offsprings. If the father was a righteous man his offsprings would tend to follow his footsteps. This was all done for the love of God. Abraham was also a good man and he was to be the father of many nations. This was also done for the love of God. So love is having reverence for God, as well as our mates. And we must respect the new law. One man for one women. |
