NASB | 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. [Ps 55:22] |
Bible Question: how do we cast our cares on Jesus? is there a physical way to do this and is it wrong to want a physical way to cast our cares on him? |
Bible Answer: Welcome to the Forum. I love this verse. It is rich in meaning. (I especially like the Amplified's use of "one and for all.") Have you ever seen a animal that is "cast"? It gets into a position that it can not get up by itself. When I think of casting my burdens or cares upon the Lord, I think of this word picture. Once cast on Him, I cannot take that burden up again. If I can, then it was not really "cast" in the first place. All too often we think that God needs our help to solve our problems; He doesn't. So, to cast means (to me anyway) to LET GO and LET GOD. Blessings, mommapbs |
