AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 4:14 If you are insulted and reviled for [bearing] the name of Christ, you are blessed [happy, with life-joy and comfort in God's salvation regardless of your circumstances], because the Spirit of glory and of God is resting on you [and indwelling you--He whom they curse, you glorify]. Subject: Reviled IN the name of Christ? |
Bible Note: Hi mommapbs, No, for I do not capitalize "whom". Ephesians 4:30, "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of (God), by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." John 3:26, "And they came to John and said to him, 'Rabbi, He who was with you beyond Jordan, to whom you have borne witness, behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to (Him).'" John 12:36, "While you have the Light, believe in the Light, in order that you may become sons of (Light)." Ephesians 1:11, NKJ, "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of (Him) who works all things..." For Ephesians 1:13, I go with the NASB which translates two "whom" occurances as "Him". Thus I would say that in Him we trusted, believing the gospel, and we were sealed in Him with the holy spirit of promise which is given as a pledge of our inheritance. We view the redemption as adopted sons, being God's own possession. From the heart, Ray |
