AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 3:18 For indeed Christ died for sins once for all, the Just and Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous [the Innocent for the guilty] so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; |
Bible Question:
Where is the scripture that makes reference as Jesus appearing to those who died before his death to give them the opportunity to receive him? I remember reading it in the bible not long ago and I am unable to find it now. Based on that scripture, I believe (or hope) those who have died before hearing about Jesus, including babies, may have the opportunity to receive Him before judgement. Any thoughts? |
Bible Answer: 1 Peter 3:18-19 (NKJV) 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, Many believe 1 Peter 3:18 and 19 is exactly what your talking about that Jesus went to Abraham's bosom and preached the "Good News" Ephesians 4:8 seems to indicate He was successful as Jesus then lead captivity (the dead awaiting redeemption by their Messiah) captive (Bondservants bought with a price Jesus' own blood)to heaven. |
