AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 2:21 For [as a believer] you have been called for this purpose, since Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you may follow in His footsteps. |
Bible Question:
What does following His footsteps really mean especially for us Christians? I just wonder if all of us who claimed to be Jesus follower, why are there so many others who are still suffering from the burden of sin. Could it be that so many of us also can't give a full meaning of following His Steps. We can't speak for others so let me know your idea personally. Thanks and God Bless! inheavenseyes |
Bible Answer: Greetings inheavenseyes, I agree with Makarios but I want to add that Christ was an example that we need to imitate. We are called to suffer without flinching, if need be, for we see in Jesus the greatest example of one who suffered unjustly without striking back. We will at sometime have to endure some sort of persecution. Christ-like behavior on the part of the believer in the midst of such trials results in the strengthening and perfecting of the Christian on earth. Christ set a pattern for us to follow that in suffering or persecution we are to have Christ's patience and love in dealing with the trial before us. prayon |
