Subject: What is meant to be baptized by fire? |
Bible Note: The New Testament speaks of four kinds of baptism. (1) The baptism of repentence performed by John the Baptist (2) The baptism of fire, meaning judgment (3) The baptism of the Holy Spirit which comes to every believer at the time of his salvation and has nothing to do with speaking in tongues, and 4) water baptism, or believer's baptism, which is in obedience to Christ's command and is the result and manifestation of salvation, not the means of it. --Hank |
