Bible Question:
Hello, I am a born again, spirit filled believer and I love JESUS. I read and pray everyday, but I have a problem with meditating on Gods word. I'm one who wants to do what the bible says (obedient) but I need help with learning how to meditate, how do you meditate? Thanks in advance for all your help, be blessed |
Bible Answer: Hi, 8788! Try to place yourself in the passage you are reading--do not attempt to digest whole chapters or books at-a-time. Begin with something that is familiar or that you truly enjoy or that mystifies you. Look for something visual (Jesus walking on water, the fishermen working without success until Jesus guides them to the big catch, the woman in the midst of the crowd that touches Jesus and is cured or walk with Jesus as He carries the Cross to Golgotha!). You must seek a place and time where the least amount of interruption may be present... Be truthful. If the passage saddens you to the point of tears... let it happen! If it brings you joy as the leper who came back to praise and worship God for His Gift... enjoy! Always begin and end with a prayer: asking the Holy Ghost for guidance (beginning); thanking God for the one-on-one with Him (end)... as you practice you begin to form your own style. God Bless!
