Bible Note: Greetings Ibelong2God! Not only is this verse an example of a verse taken out of context, but it is also an example of what happens when we don't consider the truths of all of Scripture. Allow me to demonstrate. Is there anyplace that God is not present? The answer, according to Scripture, is 'No!' God is omnipresent. Jonah thought that he could run from God by getting away from Israel, but he soon discovered that there is no place that God is not present. So, if only one person is gathered in prayer, God is STILL there. In fact, if no one is there - God is still there! :-) The actual context has to do with God's guidance of and sanction of judgement carried out by the church. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
