AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 4:3 You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires. |
Subject: Is James 4:3 completely true? |
Bible Note: Dear Biblenovice, Please do calm down first (James 1:19-20). I hope you would drop your focus on your car problem and the seemingly unswered prayer issue for the time being. Let me recall you to Acts 3:1-8. The lame was truly IN NEED OF ALMS, and that was absolutely reasonable. He believed so and I would, too if I were him. But what God gave him (through Peter's hand) was not the lame expected - a new life (both physical and spiritual, I beleive,...see he PRAISED God instead of praising Peter, and cling to Peter into the temple instead of going away). Now, why do I cite the passage? Have you considered that your coming to the forum in search of help on the specific car issue could be a means of God's dealing (through forum users who hold to sola scriptura) with your other problems - to have a proper understanding of God and His Words. Without proper view of God, our worldview will be distorted and so do our view on the circumstances experienced in our daily lives. May the Holy Spirit shed light in your heart. God bless Shalom Azure |
