Bible Question:
Susan, In post 148122, you said, "Speaking in tongues brings the tongue under submission (James 3:8)" ... Like kalos, I do not see in the context (the entire chapter) anything about speaking in tongues. Just look at the next verse "With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men" ... is that about tongues? I know of someone who cursed Jesus when they were "speaking in tongues" ... I got in their face and since they din't acknowledge their wrong I pubically announced what they did. Searcher |
Bible Answer: Greetings Searcher! 1 Cor. 12:1-3 actually would have been a better Scripture for Prayon's point, than James 3:8! :-) Just out of curiosity my friend, how did you know that the person speaking in tongues was cursing Jesus? Public condemnation would definitely be called for in this case! :-( Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
