NASB | James 3:1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 3:1 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. |
Bible Question: Where in the bible does it say that pastors, deacons and the like will be judge with a stiffer judgement? |
Bible Answer: In James 3:2 he also says that we will make mistakes when we talk because we are not perfect. We must have self-control and teach with the Holy Spirit's guidance when we teach. To teach for one class of an hour it takes a week of study and prayer. So teaching is not something we can enter into lightly. We must be dedicated to uphold God's truth. |
