Bible Note: Hi, Vintage... In theology this is an area called ethics. The notion of setting aside one command in order to achieve a greater good is called the teleological suspension of the ethical. For example, we are commanded to obey the laws of the land. Thus, we are to obey speed limits. However, if you were hurt, in sudden need of a doctor, I could drive you to the hospital, breaking the speed limit, in order to achieve the good of the end result of your life being saved.
