NASB | James 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 1:6 But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God's willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. |
Bible Question (short): Why's my NASB diff. than online versions |
Question (full): My NASB Bible (Zodhiates Key Word Study Bible) has several differences from all of the online versions I look at and I was wondering what the reason was behind that. For example, James 1:6 in my Bible states "But let him ask in faith without any doubting...". All online versions that I have looked at state "But he must ask in faith without any doubting...". There are many others like this. I know it is a small thing but my daughter is memorizing scripture and I have chosen the NASB as the best translation for her to do so. I would hate to find that she has been memorizing something wrong. Any ideas what is going on here? Thank you Lance Albury |
