NASB | James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God" [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one. |
Bible Question: Does God lead us into temtation? If not, why did Jesus pray: "Lead us not into temtation"? |
Bible Answer: Jesus is asking God or asking you to ask God to lead you away from Satans temptation. "Lead us not into temtation" - lead us away from any direction that temptation may come about. So we would be asking to be lead away from anyone or anyplace that may cause you or I to be tempted. That is how it looks to me. |
