Bible Question: I don't believe once saved always saved and I know there are more scriptures to back up that you can loose your salvation. One is the prodical son. What are the rest. one more scripture thats comes to mind is Rev 3:16. also. could you come up with more scriptures please. henrietta |
Bible Answer: etta3dove, Psalms 69:28 tell us "Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous". Jesus restates this in Rev. 3:5, in his letter to the church at Sardis,He states, "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels". Lastly, you might consider Hebrews 6:4-6. I'll quote v.6, "If they shall fall away, to renew them again to repentance;, seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame". Scripture tells us that this is "impossible", (v.4). Two things to consider here:1. It is apparent, I believe, that Jesus withholds the right to, in fact, blot names out of the book, that are written therein, if He so chooses. This is "judging". Guilty or not guilty? 2. If we fall away, after coming to Him, it is tantamount to crucifying Him again, to open shame. To fall away, especially to those around you that experienced your salvation with you, is the same as crucifying Him again! Bringing Him to open shame! People will wonder, why did he/she do that? The Father will not allow his Son to be shamed again! Would you? Do not leave Him, my friend...Do not bring Him to open shame...He paid a high price for you, and we will not exact any more from Him...Those that believe, "once saved, always saved", are exactly right! This is the "promise of salvation". Our "blessed hope"! IF, we continue to walk with Him, and not fall away..Stay with Him, my friend, He will stay with you..Holler, if I can help....God bless....believer57 |
