Bible Note: I agree with you. A casual reading would *SEEM* to indicate that Scofield agrees that a Christian can lose his salvation. However, I have been reading and re-reading Scofield, cover-to-cover, backwards and forwards, inside-out for 30 years. Scofield never believed that a Christian could lose his salvation. He had this idea that Eternal Life by definition is not temporary. The idea here is regarding the act of a false *PROFESSOR* of salvation as opposed to a genuine *POSSESSOR* of salvation. "Apostasy, Summary: Apostasy, "falling away," is the act of *PROFESSED* Christians who deliberately reject revealed truth." |
