AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. |
Subject: Jesus experienced every kind of trial? |
Bible Note: Hi Tim, I like your translation except that I would capitalize High Priest as the NKJ does and "One who" as the NASB does. For me, it does not matter that Christ went through everything that a person would go through here on earth. He certainly did not go through all the sicknesses and trials that we all could go through; but the important thing is that He was the perfect Lamb sacrificed for us. For me, the flesh profits nothing. He came in the likeness of men but He was a Man, even the Son of Man. He came into the world as "God with us", even the Son of God. Hebrews 4:14, "Since then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession." From the heart, Ray |
