Bible Question:
I recently read this passage in a book by a pastor I have a good deal of respect for: God created man for the purpose of resolving the angelic conflict (Heb. 2:7; Isa. 43:7). Is this accurate? My belief is that God created us to love Him. Are these two ideas in agreement? |
Bible Answer: This passage in Heb.2:7 means that Jesus was made a little lower than the Angels because he had taken on a human body. Therefore Jesus was made subject to operate as humans operate even though he had divine power. Notice after Jesus fasted for 40 days in the wilderness, then he was hungry. Angels have super natural power. Jesus also became tired, thirsty and had many other human characteristics although he did not have a sin nature. After Jesus was resurrected, he then dwelled in a glorified body and went back to heaven to sit on his throne, which he had before he was placed inside of Mary. Then God the Father gave him total control of the universe. Everything in existence operates by Christ whether they are in heaven or on the earth. This is how God has set him over the works of creation and has crowned him and given him glory and honor to reign. The true church shall also reign with him and take part in this glory and honor. As for the Anglic Conflict that this pastor wrote about in his book, it is not scriptural. Humans were created for God's good pleasure according to God's will and his purpose; Now thats what the scripture says. |
