Bible Question:
As i walk this life with Jesus, the God of the universe the question returns to me time and again. Why do i beleive? There have been countless books on the subject and a good one i read was written by D.James Kennedy that made sense, yet when the question is posed the answer is not readily at my tongue and i fear to stumble at the response. It is not a "feel-good" testimony and there never seems to be just the right "deeply convicting" answer. Why do i beleive? |
Bible Answer: Very good and important question. It is interesting that God Himself has declared that He EXPECTS us to give a Logical Defense for the Hope that we have. (1Peter) And further, He has declared that the One True Sovereign is clearly discernable from the non-gods by means of His certain and numerous declarations of future events. (Isa.46) I've read a demonstration once that showed that the probability of only a small fraction of the Bible's specific prophecies to have occurred would be Immensely beyond mathematical impossibility. But, if one argues against something even MORE basic than WHICH God, the Bible declares that the fact of a Master Designer is OBVIOUS, and that it is only Fools (of which this world is FILLED) who question that creation's magnificent design is causeless ... So therefore, the question can only be, "WHICH GOD is True?" Well, of course many of the New Age's gods are simply ridiculous, selfish little petty things; Hardly worthy of the infinite Creator. And, of the rest, there is only One who could declare from the very beginning what the ends shall be. And that One's ineffable worthiness is also seen in His unimaginable Lovingkindness and Moral Perfection. Chuck C. |
