Bible Question (short): Is not Jesus enough? |
Question (full): Dear TRU4GOD, Greetings in Jesus' name! I agree that the saints of old were searching for the Messiah, and that He is come. But are we indeed 'entitled' to physical blessings because He has come? I know this is a popular theme on the TV circus shows, but is this really the promise of the Gospel? As you quoted from Hebrews 11:13, "All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth." (NASB) Does this not still apply to the present-day church? Are we not still 'Strangers and Aliens in a strange land?' It seems to me that the 'blessings' (plural) that the world seeks are not holy in themselves, but they CAN be a by-product of faith in Christ. BUT, not necessarily!
