Bible Question:
I have two questions: 1. Why do we not see God move in the 'mighty' what that he did in Bible times? We hear of miracles, but we do not see the great physical evidence. We might hear of a cancer cured, but not as easily hear of or see a cripple walk or a blind person see. 2. When sins are forgiven, are the consequences of them forgiven too? Note that David wasn't allowed to build the temple. |
Bible Answer: God no longer needs to impart miraculous occurrences to confirm His plan for mankind as it is forever preserved, accurate and complete, in the Bible. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord-- 7 for we WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT-- 8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. (Emphasis added) NAS 1 Corinthians 13:8-11 8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. NAS As for consequences, they have sometimes been forgiven, but not always. God desires you to learn from your mistakes, just as any parent. Best regards, AO |
