Bible Question:
A few times I have asked my pastor (via email, without being confrontational) to explain something he preached that I thought was in error. He either says he does not have time or does not respond at all. Should I continue to ask or just pray for him? I know there are people in the congregation who are baby Christians. My pastor recently has been involved with "big named ministries" and is becoming more egocentric. He just recently became a "bishop"...it was a BIG event. Thanks |
Bible Answer: Dear Bereaniam, A couple of suggestions: Perhaps your pastor is overworked. When you have a questino, seek the explanation from another elder, if you are a man, or from your husband, if you are a woman, or from an older woman, if you are a single woman. Pray for your pastor. If he is suffering from spiritual pride, it is very sad. Pray that God will deal with him in a merciful fashion. Search your own heart for any kind of pride. I know that in my own case if someone seems to snub me, I resent it. Which simply indicates that I'm thinking more highly of myself than I ought. (The greatest idol we ever have is our self!) If you sense that in yourself, then you can have even more compassion on your pastor as you pray that God mercifully deals with your idol. In Him, Doc |
