Bible Question: How do you know that the Bibles is the word of God? |
Bible Answer: Hello Cariad; Certainly there is an aspect of faith that is involved in believing that the Bible is the word of God. However Paul writes in Romans that our faith is not a blind faith: Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. This verse tells us that there is outside evidence (other than just because the Bible says so) that points to and declares that God is. The Bible as His writen word is backed up by plenty of evidence as well. I would suggest you invest in a book called "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. It has been many years since I've read it so there have probably been many updates of it. It is full of solid historical, literary, and philosophical reasons to believe that the Bible is the Word of God. Blessings to you Aaron |
