Bible Question: I'm starting a study with a neighbor and before looking at a gospel want to establish theBible as "the truth", God's word. What are some scriptures I might refer to? |
Bible Answer: The best way to know that the Bible it true is by the way it’s predictions over a 1500 years span have come true. There isn’t a book on record other then the Bible that was written by 40 different people over a span of 1500 years and they are all in perfect agreement. One of the most recent examples of major evidence would be that the Jews since 1948 have a homeland! If people want to know where we are on God’s prophetic calendar and if the Bible is the Word of God just watch the Jews. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Jesus wants us to learn of him and the only place to do that is the Bible. John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. I hope this helps, CDBJ |
