Bible Question: Do we literally believe ALL scripture is Profitable |
Bible Answer: Faithfolk, We would also do well to remember that though Paul talks about ALL scripture in reference to the Old Testament, he was concious that what he preached was directly from the Lord. Consider Galatians 1:11,12: For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. Paul's writings in the New Testament carry just as much weight as Jesus' words in the gospels. Why? Because they had the same Author. After his conversion, Paul did not immediately go to Jerusalem to visit the other disciples and apostles of our Lord to get the "scoop". He was not taught what he knew by men. He was taught be direct revelation from Christ Himself. Therefore, even Paul's writings are just as inspired as the OT or any other portion of scripture. ChristLifer2001 |
