Bible Note: Hi Mark7, Thanks for the response, Yes I am a christian and I am a member of a bible believing and bible teaching church. You write: "The reason some are touchy about "experience" is not that it contradicts the Bible but that it contradicts their interpretaion of such key scriptures as Acts 2:4!" Your right, but it's also because they see others attempting to take personal experiences and assign them as from God when they are not. Some examples are "holy laughter" and "being slain in the Spirit." There simply is no biblical reference to support these silly notions. But there are whole congregations being carried away by these things on a regular basis. Jeff |
