Bible Question:
I have been a Christian for a long time now, and the infallibility of the Bible was always one of the ways I defended my faith. Recently, however, I came across Donald Morgan's "Biblical Inconsistencies" as posted on infidels.org (http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/donald_morgan/inconsistencies.shtml). While many of these I recognize and can easily refute, some other ones start to make me wonder. Why would God let so many little problems into his word? |
Bible Answer: Don't fall into the trap of the site you mention. I think they have some "descrepencies" that are very easy to reason to yourself as "this guy that made this site is very igorant about the Word of God" He builds your confidence. You think you can disprove every "descrepency" mentioned. You are now in the spiders web. You'll find one you can not immediately disprove. You begin to question... the poison is entering your mind. The devil tempted Jesus by presenting biblical scripture with a slight twist(Matthew 4.1-11) This person is trying to do roughly the same to you. Have faith. Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Praise the Lord!
