Bible Question (short): believing the entire bible |
Question (full): This was as my pastor puts it our last go around. I would like as much input as i can. Allow me to push back on a couple of thoughts. You found several things disturbing in this latest go around... What if I came to the point in reading the gospels when Jesus said “love God love others” and I read no further but gave my life to doing just that...do you think God would care that I knew nothing about the rapture or the tribulation or revelation or and the list could go on. Why get so caught up in thinking that the rapture ought to be the litmus test for being a “good” Christian? A personal question...has your study of Scripture led you to being a more loving person? Was the prophecy that you know, given to motivate you or those around you who do not know it? What if God reveals prophecy to you so that you would recognize the times and do your part of loving others into the kingdom? Because if you are not careful the knowledge you have can lead to a judgmental attitude towards others who do not know the same things. I do not need to know the house is on fire to recognize someone trying to help me. What if from a Jewish perspective six literal days was not the point of Genesis one and two but rather to give God the credit for being the creator? Does it change anything? |
