Subject: Evidence of holy spirit in a Christian? |
Bible Note: Hi Eli, Welcome to the forum. You have expressed yourself well and I hope that you will continue to contribute. I would like to correct you on a couple of your Scripture references and then go on and talk about something else. Maybe capitalization?:) 1) You wrote, "Even as far back as Deuteronomy 34:9 we see the Holy Spirit being received when Moses lays his hands on Joshua." The verse actually says "Now Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him;..." 2) You wrote, "For he was God in the flesh, and even in the womb he was full of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:41)!" However, Luke 1:41 is speaking of John the baptist, not Jesus the Christ. I appreciate your zeal and passion and your evident desire to do your Lord's will. Keep up your good work for Him. Now let me talk of capitalization, of which I have a little interest.:) I note that you speak of "Empowerment " of the Spirit and also talk of when Jesus received the empowerment of Spirit when the dove came upon Him. Also, in your last post you spoke of the "Power poured out" and the power of the Spirit and the Spirit's power. I wonder if you can reread your post and think about whether you are talking about a Person, as in Mt. 26:64 and Mark 14:62 where it talks about the right hand of Power; or whether you mean the power or empowerment that is present. I look forward to hearing from you. From the heart, Ray |
