Bible Note: Hello BradK, All points noted. It's a good thing that is not the only thing he taught, because in Matthew 28:19,20 his commission to the apostles "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you alway, even to the end of the world.Amen. The apostles did not disobey Christ because as it is written in Acts 13:46,47. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold and said "It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge youselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo we turn to the gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us saying " I have set thee to be a light of the gentiles that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. Although we may all be of the body of Christ, it is written Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 1 Corinthians 12:29,30. Hence the reason why we take into consideration all that christ taught the apostles as he commanded. We must accept all that Christ taught but also remember what he was teaching them, which was to depend on God. Jesus said that as long as we seek first the kingdom of God all these things will be added unto you.Matthew 6:31-34. Yours sincerely M.Royal |
