Subject: Christian-alcohol and smoking is it ok? |
Bible Note: Charis: Thank you for shedding the light of both scripture and common sense on the subject of using tobacco. As you have said so well, scripture prohibits the use of tobacco ("You shall not murder"); and common sense prohibits its use (tobacco kills). I guess I don't understand why anyone one would need to ask the question in the first place. There's enough hard evidence to show that the use of tobacco is a health issue. Why does one need a clear verse of scripture to abstain from that which is harmful to one's health, that (tobacco use) which leads to thousands of deaths every year? The question was recently asked on the forum: Who says don't smoke? The answer: The American Cancer Society. |
