Bible Question:
I like the capitalization of the NKJ for the verse leading up to 1 Timothy 2:6. I would like the ones who know Greek on the forum to give comments on my rendering of 1 Timothy 2:6. 1 Timothy 2:5, NKJ, and verse 6 [my own rendering for what it is worth], "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 the One who gave Himself a ransom for all, the testimony to be borne in His own time." Bible Answer: Scripture ... 1 Timothy 2:6 ... in the Greek ... oJ dou;ß eJauto;n ajntivlutron uJpe;r pavntwn, to; martuvrion kairoi'ß ijdivoiß: - who gave Himself ... His life (Php 2:5-8) - ransom for all ... but, not all want to be ransomed. They still want to try to pay the price. Matthew 20:28 helps with this. - the testimony ... the summation of the Gospel (1 Jo 5:8-11) - at the proper time ... not early or late (1 Ti 6:15, Tit 1:3) |
