Subject: The Lord Jesus revealed? |
Bible Note: His terrib, This question is in essence 2 Thessalonians 2:6 and 7 revisted. Makarios, Morant61, and I had a discussion in July, 2001 which I recommend to you for reference. Just type in those verses in the Search book on the top left. What I am seeking is an answer to "who is being revealed; Deity or satan?" In other words, which pronouns in these verses should be capitalized? Who is being spoken of in these pronouns? Your King James will not help you in this regard. We will have to interpret it for ourselves. Morant6l of course was helpful in the grammar of the Greek to answer some questions. I think all three of us enjoyed the discussion. But now I wanted to compare our discussion in 2:6,7 with this verse in 2 Thess 1:7. I appreciate your thoughts about the work of the devil being already at hand and is working within the church. It is not hard to see his work everywhere (as well as our own flesh). So now the question is for 2 Thess 2:6. What or who withholdeth? Who is revealed and in whose time? For 2 Thess 2:7, "Who now letteth? Who will be taken out of the way? I suggest using the NASB, NKJ, or any other version that capitalizes Deity so that you have an idea of the possibilities for interpretation. Thanks for your interest and comments.
