AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ¶ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged--consecrated to Him--set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |

Bible Note: You added the word Christ for Logos. Take out the genetive pronouns from which the greek can show in verse 2 that it is 'the same' not 'him' God's word about the coming savior was made a reality - flesh...finally happened. The only begotten of the Father was born. Careful to not add to the Word when studying it. Look at the account of Eve being tricked by the serpent... Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, NEITHER SHALL YOU TOUCH IT, lest ye die. Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. I don't see God saying that they couldn't touch it, yet Eve said that - and she was headed down the wrong road then - Thou shalt surely die is not the same as lest ye die. Shall means absolutely. Dictionary: lest (lst) conj. For fear that: (ie. tiptoed lest the guard should hear her; anxious lest he become ill. ) Just a reminder of what can happen when you change the word of God. |
