Bible Question: So these are people of God from Adam to Christ that have died correct? Since Christ died on the cross and possesses the keys to death, does this mean that when we "die" we are immediately transformed therefore not experiencing death? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... 1 Cor 15:1-11, 12-34, 35-58; 2 Cor 5:6-8; 1 The 4:13-18 ... kiddstuff, greetings and welcome to the forum. The church in Thessalonica were wondering about their dead brothers and sisters in the Lord, so Paul had to explain to them what happened and will happen (1 The 4:13-18). We read about the resurrection of Christ (1 Cor 15:1-11), the resurrection of the dead (vv 12-34) and the resurrection body (vv 35-58). You will see that we actually die, physically. But, our spirits and/or souls (depending on your theology), are with the Lord when we die (2 Cor 5:6-8). If you enter 2 Cor 5:8 next to Questions/Notes on Verse:, near the top of this screen, you may find more help on this matter. Nonetheless, I encourage you to search and study Scriptures that you have been given, and others as the Lord lead, so you see for yourself. Hope this helps, Searcher |
