Bible Note: Hi, Hank! No problem... I've heard the expression ever since I can remember... but I still don't get it... would the jay bird not have to be featherless in order to be naked? ...I mean, I've seen some caged birds that for whatever reasons they have pluck out their feathers... quite a pitiful sight!... I was playing on the words and on the grotesqueness of such a bird (naked due to plucking out its feathers) and juxtapose the idea of this thread: a Christian plucking off his/her clothes in order to "feel" more contentment/peace... would this action not be the same as a dog going back to its vomit? Clearly, we are called to imitate Christ, not the whims of the world! ...when Adam and Eve lost their innocence and became cognizant of their nakedness two things happened: a) They made makeshift coverings and hid from God, and, b) God created clothing for them. Would Christians not be violating God's own mandates if we seek to expose ourselves as an attempt to get more in tune with ourselves and God? God Bless! Angel |
