Bible Note: Dear BJ, ¶. Your post seems rather provincial. You write as if the events about which you wrote are supposed to happen in the U. S. I don't recall the U. S. being mentioned in Scripture. If anything we're one of the unnamed nations making up the iron and clay feet of the statue of Nebuchadnezzar's dream. ¶. I'm sure some of the Jewish prophets of Jeremiah's day said that the invasion of the Babylonians was not of God but of Satan. My point is that God can and has brought one nation against another in judgment without it being prophesied. A good king of Judah tried to prevent one foreign king from attacking another. The one king warned him not to prevent him because he was commissioned by God. Now, was this particular attack prophesied and found in Scripture? (2 Chr. 35) God is not only sovereign over nature to bring natural disasters, but he's also sovereign over the king's heart and "turns it wherever He wishes." Prov. 21:1 Peace, Lionstrong |
