NASB | Colossians 3:11 a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Colossians 3:11 a renewal in which there is no [distinction between] Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, [nor between nations whether] barbarian or Scythian, [nor in status whether] slave or free, but Christ is all, and in all [so believers are equal in Christ, without distinction]. |
Bible Question: Do you think in present times we can apply this as "There is no room for and there can be neither Baptist, Methodist, AG, Black and White etc...But Christ is all and in all" ? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... 1 Cor 1:10-13, Eph 4:1-16, Col 3:11-17 ... City not deserted, greetings and welcome to the forum. There are (distinctions) labels we all have, some by choice, others not. Most of the ones listed in Colossians 3:11 fit the latter. Read the context. Paul wasn't happy with the distinctions elsewhere (1 Cor 1:10-13) ... and your list fits there, except for "Black and White", which we cannot change. Paul wanted unity also in Ephesians 4:1-16. We should accept all who are believers, for we will have no labels in the new creation (Col 3:11). Hope I answered your question, Searcher |
